This collaborative FWS/NPS event is an opportunity for intermediate to advanced geospatial practitioners to receive focused, hands-on training clinics that would not otherwise be offered at NCTC. In addition to the training modules, the Workshop will incorporate morning plenary lectures, lightning rounds and “What’s New” software demonstrations. Lecture topics range from geospatial data management updates to FWS/NPS briefings on Regional and National program efforts.
The Workshop will also include agency program breakout meetings, a FWS/NPS program Showcase and mapping/poster sessions hosted within the NCTC gymnasium.
During the Geospatial Training Workshop, you will be able to:
- Cultivate professional and collaborative relationships with FWS and NPS employees.
- Discover new program initiatives within FWS/NPS/DOI including national data integration strategies to promote information sharing among agencies.
- Share knowledge, expertise and perspectives among your contemporaries and subject matter experts.
- Receive training on the latest geospatial software, equipment, and technology applications.

There will be a one day ArcGIS Pro course available prior to the Workshop on Monday, March 5, 2018. Due to limited seating, participants will be enrolled on a first come, first serve basis. Note,once registered, you will receive confirmation that you are enrolled for the one day ArcGIS Pro training session. As a result, you will be arriving at NCTC on Sunday, March 4, 2018. Participants placed on the waitlist for the ArcGIS Pro training session should plan to arrive Monday, March 5, 2018 (along with other workshop participants) unless otherwise notified.
Afternoon Training Clinic Registration:
New for 2018 will be registration (sign-ups) for the afternoon training clinics held each afternoon in Instructional East (Tuesday – Thursday). Registration for these individual sessions is required and will be made available February 12, 2018 VIA Google forms. All enrolled participants will receive an e-mail with the training clinic descriptions, detailed instructions/procedures and a link to the Training Clinic Registration Form.
